Although being a departure from what she initially wanted, junior Aarushi Jain’s prom dress is royal blue and slim-fitting. According to Jain, it was love at first sight with this dress from Lucy in the Sky, and this sensation is what convinced her to buy the dress.  

“Originally, I had one color in mind, which was emerald green, because that was the color of my Bhangra costume this year,” Jain said. “I just want[ed] both of those to be the same because I really liked my costume. I bought that dress, but then I also found another dress that was royal blue, and then I ended up liking that one better.”

Jain states how the fit of the dress was ultimately her top priority. Due to this being junior prom, she wanted something slightly less fancy, which the royal blue dress provided. 

“I always wanted a slim fit, kind of bodycon dress one year and a princess-like ball gown the other year,” Jain said. “So since this was junior prom, I thought I’d be more simple and just [went] for the slim fit one.”
